Our Story
Matthews Painting Pros works on one thing: painting homes and businesses so the paint lasts. Interior and exterior painting, cabinets, decks and fences, and the drywall and wood repairs that have to happen before paint.
That focus came from what we kept finding. Paint here rarely fails because of the paint. It fails because it went on over pollen, mildew or soft wood, because the caulk was skipped, or because one coat was sold as two. The Charlotte-area mix of hot sun, heavy storms and 1980s and 1990s trim makes preparation the whole job.

The Matthews Painting Pros team works from its office in Matthews and walks most estimates personally. Every estimate covers what is wrong with each surface, what prep it needs, and what products, colors and coats go on.
Our crews are trained in surface preparation, caulking and primer selection, and in lead-safe work practices for homes built before 1978.
Our Credentials
North Carolina does not issue a painting license. A general contractor license is required only for projects of $40,000 or more. Here is what you can ask us for and check.
Liability Insurance
We carry liability insurance on every job. A certificate is available on request, with you or your HOA named as certificate holder if needed.
Workers' Compensation
North Carolina requires workers' compensation for businesses with three or more employees. Ask us for the certificate.
Lead-Safe Practices
For homes and child-occupied buildings built before 1978, work that disturbs paint follows EPA and North Carolina lead-safe rules. Ask for the firm certification before any scraping starts.
2-Year Workmanship Warranty
If paint we applied peels, blisters or flakes within 24 months because of how we prepared or applied it, we come back and fix it at no charge. Read what the warranty covers.
